Caballo Park - Spanish Horses are proud to announce the arrival from Spain of Sonajero XI. after a long search we finally found the right one.
Approved in Spain for breeding by the Jefatura de Cria Caballar, and imported to Australia in October 2002 from the famous Spanish Stud "Yeguada Maipe".
Sonajero XI has it all.

Sonajero XI is currently in training with Jose and Fay Mendez and going beautifully.
HISTORY:
2001 The decision to buy an Andalusian/PRE Stallion has finally been made. After numerous emails, photos, videos and telephone calls from Spain both myself and Rachel McCracken decide to book our flights and go to Spain and make the big decision.
2002 We arrived in Spain in sweltering heat, met up with Miriam Frenk, hired a car and went looking. After a week and a half of not finding "my perfect stallion" I went back through my emails and found Yeguada Maipe and a photo of "Sonajero XI", Miriam then made contact with the stud and we went to look at him. Within 5 minutes of being there and seeing him my thoughts were "this is it, my dream horse!" we then reluctantly left for the night to return the next morning. And we go from there, the decision was made, arrangements were made and he finally arrived in Australia in October 2002.
2003 Sonajero's first ever show was Sydney Royal Easter Show and he was just wonderful, showing everyone just what this boy from Spain was made of, taking out 2003 Champion Led Andalusian.
2004 Sonajero was the NSW AHAA Champion Entire
2005 Once again he was entered in Sydney Royal and he did it again 2005 Champion Led Andalusian; Champion Led & Ridden @ Blayney AH & P, Champion Led & Champion Ridden @ Bathurst Royal and Champion Led & Champion Ridden @ Orange Ag Show.
2006 Silver Award and Best Presented Stallion @ EquiPRE 2006, Sydney Royal Easter SHow - 2nd Led Spanish Entire 4yrs + and 2nd Ridden Spanish Entire 4yrs + and also 4th in the Costume Class; and Champion Led & Champion Ridden at Blayney AH & P.
The History of Sonajero's Bloodlines: Sonajero is 50% carthusian which is why you will see a "C" in the design of his brand. His sire Financiero is 100% carthusian. The history of the significant meaning of being "Carthusian" is that; The Andalusian horses owe a great deal to the Carthusian Monks who bred them, beginning in the late Middle Ages. In the late 1400's, studs were founded at monasteries in Terez, Seville, and Cazallo. The monks were superb horse breeders and trainers, and kept the blood of their horses quite pure. The Andalusian's purity was threatened in the 1800's when Napoleon's army invaded Spain and stole many horses. One herd of Andalusians was hidden and used to renew the breed. In 1832, an epidemic devastated Spain's horse population. Only a small herd of Andalusians at the Monastery of Cartuja survived, and of these Sonajero is descended.
Sonajero is currently being trained etc by Fay & Jose Mendez at Tallong NSW.
Due to family issues regretfully Sonajero must be sold ASAP. All offers will be considered as he must be sold as soon as possible.
